Yahoo!
I am visiting Yahoo! Research on Thursday, June 28, 2007. The slides for my talk are available here in both ppt and pptx format.
In this talk I cover some recent research I’ve been doing on the role of copying in the production of web mashups. I talk about the Yahoo! Pipes system and it’s “cloning” [...]

My house is full of Wii again!
I got a new Wii today! Replaced the stolen one… only took 2 months to find a Wii in stock. Anyway, the new Wii number is 6806 5821 7727 9940 if you want to join my Mii Parade.
It was totally random luck (or maybe fate) that we got the Wii. By a random set of [...]

My brand new laptop died today - most likely because of some flaky software conflicting with Vista. Anyway, this required a full system reformat and restore to fix. As I was recovering my files, I stumbled across some old photos from past trips. I also found this great video from my trip to Vienna in [...]

UIUC Bookmarklet
I wrote a bookmarklet which makes it easier to log in to the Library Gateway/Proxy from sites like ACM DL or IEEE Explore or Springer Link. You can also highlight a URL or DOI on these pages and it will generate a UIUC Gateway resolved URL for linking.

Besides Sharon, this is perhaps the only sweet Cylon — a chocolate one! Baked a Chocolate Cylon Raider cake for my birthday. Here it is.
Here it is in flight, “Look out Starbuck!”
Anyway, happy birthday to me.

bear
here is a photo of the new dog. his current name is “bear”, it may change. i am insisting that we spell his name with lowercase letters to make him totally 1337 and web2.0 compatible.

new site
Hi everyone. I am moving my site over from Joomla — granted there isn’t much there, but I was tired of dealing with the horrible Joomla interface. WordPress has quirks too, but is _much_ simpler and seems to be good enough for my uses. Now that things are easier to update, hopefully, I’ll be posting [...]
